Another bumper field for the third race in the Dale Lowe Signs Summer Series at Emu Creek with a few more big guns joining up, making scratch and second scratch pretty awesome.
It was a tough job for the handicappers with a new course and lots of new riders to manipulate, and this time limit paid the price when they were swallowed up before the half way mark. The 5, 8 and 12 minute bunches all lost riders early and when second scratch reached the turn well clear of scratch and with some 3rd scratch riders to help out, the writing was on the wall. They maintained a big lead all the way back home and had the rest of the field covered a long way out. A reduced bunch sprint resulted in Brad Geyer (3 min) taking the honours from Chris Landvogt (3 min), New member Chris Eddy (3 min), Peter Ladd Jr (3 min), Alistair Gray ( 3 min) and Andrew Innes (5 min). Scratch were a fair way back when Brendan Schultz recorded fastest time.
Next Wednesday we're back to a 6:30 p.m. start for graded crits at Murphy Street, phone entries to Aileen O'Brien on 0427 960 908.
