Smaller fields for today's graded crits at the Murphy Street circuit which was a bit surprising given the great weather - maybe the wind kept a few away.
A Grade kicked things off with Mathew Grealy having a few digs off the front, at one stage accompanied by Darren McKellar. Almost inevitably it came down to a bunch sprint won narrowly by Peter Cavallaro from Brent Gibson and Brad Geyer. There were a few half-hearted attempts to get away by some of the B Graders, none of which looked dangerous until Geoff Bennett got well clear with just over two laps to go. Not only did David Cripps hunt Geoff down, he had enough left to hit the front in the run to the line, only to fall to the fast finishing Terry Schintler right on the line. Shane Wall capped off a strong ride to run third. The small C Grade field stayed together until the last lap when Jenny Geyer raced away and looked like the winner until Peter Body unleashed his trademark finish to just overhaul Jenny, With Pam Robertson taking third spot. D Grade was also an even affair which came down to a sprint with power house Di Jane prevailing over Wendy Bennettand Karyn Mackenzie.
